Aurora
Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 1995, from Stavanger) is a Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through Decca Records Decca Records in May 2015 and received a lot of praise from music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are two of the artist's high-profile recordings. Katy Perry posted a video where she was announcing her endorsement of Runaway. The endorsement earned her some attention. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft, and becoming fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music not to get an income or as a pastime, but as an opportunity to grow. For this reason, she began writing songs that were her own creations. Alongside Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. She began performing the songs she wrote publicly after her mother said they might help others not to gain fame with her work, but instead help the people around them understand their own importance and how they impact the world. The piano was first played by her when she was only six and began writing music when she was nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she told her parents. Aurora has never imagined being famous. Her only passion is to compose music. Music is her preferred method of feeling something.
