Kim Delaney, an American actress, is best known for her character Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series, for which she won the Emmy Award. Her roles include All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. She was born as the only child of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney grew up with her four brothers. Though she had a goal of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until high school when Delaney started modeling. When she moved from New York City and gaining experiences with commercials at New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. She starred in 1981 as a naive teen in the film All My Children. Delaney an actress in her early years from the 1980s has appeared in a variety of TV films and dramas. Similar to her profession however, her private life has not been happy or successful. She is talented and gorgeous, has struggled with drinking prior to that. She has also had marriages that been unsuccessful twice. In 2005, the actress lost custody over her one son.
